RI schools raise funds and show support for RI Red Cross
On Wednesday, March 31st, students across Rhode Island celebrated the last day of Red Cross Month with a school wide campaign called "Students Stand Up for the Red Cross Day." Dozens of schools across Rhode Island took part and raised funds for the RI Red Cross programs and services. In total, 34 schools participated in this statewide event which, to date, has raised over $4,700.

RI Red Cross assisting 5 Providence residents displaced by afternoon fire
RI Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire at 92 Burnside Street in Providence today at 2:30 pm.  Five adults were displaced from the residence and received emergency food and shelter assistance from the RI Red Cross.

RI Red Cross assisting 4 Glocester residents displaced by fire
RI Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire at a single family home at 360 Douglas Hook Road in Glocester last evening around 8:00 pm.  The family -- three adults and one child -- required Red Cross emergency food and shelter assistance.

RI Red Cross assisting 15 Pawtucket residents displaced by fire
RI Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire at a 6-family unit located at 17 Charles Street in Pawtucket this morning. In all, five families were displaced – 12 adults and 3 children. They received emergency food and shelter assistance from RI Red Cross volunteers.

RI Red Cross assisting 2 Warwick residents displaced by fire
RI Red Cross volunteers are assisting 1 adult and 1 child displaced by a fire this afternoon at 76 Gayton Street in Warwick.  The mother and her child required Red Cross emergency food, clothing and shelter assistance.

RI Red Cross assisting 5 Pawtucket residents displaced by overnight fire
RI Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire at 25 Hazel Street in Pawtucket early this morning.  A total of 5 people – 2 adults and 3 children – required Red Cross emergency food, clothing and shelter assistance. Also today, on the last day of Red Cross Month, 26 schools across Rhode Island are holding a one day fundraiser to show their support for the RI Red Cross and the programs and services they provide.

RI Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire at a triple-decker home at 10 Fletcher Street in Central Falls last evening.  A total of 15 people – 12 adults and 3 children – required Red Cross emergency food and shelter assistance.
