American Red Cross of Rhode Island 2006 SALUTE TO VOLUNTEERS
Date & Location TBD
The American Red Cross Rhode Island Chapter could not accomplish its mission without its cadre of nearly 2,000 trained, experienced, selfless volunteers. Our disaster volunteers stand watch 24 hours a day ready to help families in crisis. They respond to fires and other emergencies, providing food, clothing, shelter and counseling to Rhode Islanders in their times of greatest need. Health & Safety volunteers provide training in lifesaving skills like first aid and CPR in communities and workplaces across the state. Last year's event was hosted at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet and featured remarks from Governor Carcieri among others, recognizing the vital work of our volunteers in preventing, preparing for and responding to emergencies in Rhode Island.
