RI Red Cross assisting Providence residents displaced by fuel tank rupture

American Red Cross of Rhode Island volunteers responded to an incident Monday afternoon at 143 Donelson Street in Providence, where a home heating fuel tank had ruptured.  A total of twelve people were displaced from their home – 7 adults and 5 children.  The RI Red Cross is assisting the residents with food and shelter.

The Red Cross of Rhode Island typically spends $1,000 per family of four that it assists. All Red Cross assistance is free, thanks to contributions from individuals and organizations. The Red Cross is not a government agency and relies on private donations to provide emergency assistance to Rhode Islanders in crisis.
