Monday, October 18, 2004 Beacon Mutual Employees Hold Fundraiser for
Florida Hurricane Victims
WARWICK, RI – With many Florida residents still reeling from the devastating effects of the worst
hurricane season in years, employees of The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company joined forces to raise money for the American Red Cross - Florida Relief
Fund. To participate in the October 8th Jeans and Sneakers Day, Beacon employees raised $904.00, with the company increasing that donation for a grand
total of $2,500.00 contributed directly to hurricane victims.

"We are always so proud of how our employees rally to help those in need. Each
time we ask them to lend a hand, whether through donations or volunteer time, they have come through with flying colors," said Jeff Johnson, Vice President of
Community Relations for The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company.
Representatives from the American Red Cross were on-hand at The Beacon Mutual
Insurance Company in Warwick on October 19th to accept the donation, along with members of the Beacon Mutual staff.
"The outpouring of support from employees of The Beacon Mutual Insurance
Company and other residents and companies in Rhode Island has been a tremendous help to the victims of the recent hurricanes. We can't thank everyone
enough," said Kristin Wieber Naragon, Chief Philanthropy Officer of the American Red Cross of Rhode Island.
"I know first-hand the trauma that these hurricanes have caused so many Florida
families. My sister-in-law, her husband and her two small children have been completely displaced – their home is destroyed and they will need to basically start
over. My hope is that more companies come to understand the true devastation and recognize how giving a little can truly help a lot," said Linda Durocher, Sr. Claims Representative for Beacon Mutual.
