Show Your Patriotism By Writing A Letter To A Soldier Overseas!

American Red Cross and Fort Adams Trust Sponsor Letter Writing Campaign for Local Soldiers on Sunday

NOTE: This event was originally scheduled in May, but was rained out.

WHO: American Red Cross of Rhode Island and Fort Adams Trust

WHAT: Both groups are sponsoring a children's letter writing/picture drawing campaign for Rhode Island soldiers stationed overseas. Children will be invited to participate all weekend at a Red Cross tent during Ft. Adams' Civil War Reenactment. Each child who creates a letter will receive an American Flag sticker.

A group of children will present a bundle of letters to a soldier representing each of the military branches, followed by the singing of "God Bless America during the closing ceremonies on Sunday.

WHEN: Sunday, July 7^th, 3pm

WHERE: Ft. Adams State Park (inside the Fort area),  Newport, RI
