American Red Cross and Fort Adams Trust Sponsor Letter Writing Campaign to Local Soldiers

Children to Present Letters to Each Branch of Military at 2:30pm on Saturday

WHO:
American Red Cross of Rhode Island and Fort Adams Trust

WHAT:
The two groups are sponsoring a letter writing/picture drawing campaign for Rhode Island soldiers stationed overseas. Children will be invited to participate during the Ft. Adams Opening Day ceremonies. A group of children will present a bundle of letters to a soldier representing each of the military branches, followed by the singing of "God Bless America."

WHEN:
Saturday, May 18^th
2:30pm

WHERE:
Ft. Adams State Park (inside the Fort area)
Newport, RI

NOTE: Military units will be setting up for the event on Friday, May 17^th from noon-5pm, if media wishes to do a "event preview" story.
