Red Cross Assisting Victims of Abbott Street Fire
American Red Cross of Rhode Island volunteers were called to the scene of an early morning fire today,
May 12th, at 122 Abbott Street in Providence.
One family was hospitalized as a result of the blaze. Members of a second, extended family were
evacuated from the two-and-a-half story home. The Red Cross is providing the six adults and one child with emergency lodging and meals.
The Red Cross will continue to work with local officials to provide additional assistance to the hospitalized victims, as needed.
