Local teens spend Spring Vacation learning Babysitting and Lifeguarding Skills

Summer may still be weeks away, but nearly three dozen students spent their school spring break, training with the American Red Cross of Rhode Island, sharpening their skills for summer jobs.

Classes in "Babysitting Training" and"Lifeguarding" were offered last week. Babysitting is a course that gives youth, ages 11-15, the confidence and emergency skills they need to care for children. Lifeguarding is the Red Cross certification course that students must pass to work as lifeguards. More classes are coming up this Spring. For a schedule, CLICK HERE or contact Lori at 401.831.7700 x110.
