Red Cross Responds to Fire in Cranston

American Red Cross of Rhode Island volunteers were called to the scene of a fire Tuesday afternoon, April 8th , at 22 Hemlock Avenue in Cranston.

Five adults, living on the first floor were evacuated from the building. The Red Cross is providing emergency shelter and meals for all of the individuals.

The second floor residents were not at home at the time of the fire.

In 2003, the American Red Cross of Rhode Island has responded to 81 disasters across Rhode Island, providing over 500 Rhode Islanders with emergency food, clothing, shelter and other services --- free of charge.
