Red Cross Offers Vacation "Babysitter's Training Course" -- Spots Still Available for 11-15 Year Olds

The American Red Cross of Rhode Island is offering a special "Babysitter's Training Course" during local students' spring vacation next week.

The eight-hour course will be taught on Tuesday, April 15^th and Thursday, April 17^th from 1-5pm at Red Cross Chapter Headquarters, 105 Gano Street, Providence. The course is $40 and includes an instruction book, first aid kit and certification card.

Designed for 11-to 15-year olds, the Babysitter's Training Course teaches students how to:

• Prevent injuries and be prepared if an emergency does happen
• Perform first aid
• Learn diapering and feeding techniques
• Choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games
• Handle bedtime issues
• Interview for a babysitting job
• Market yourself safely
