American Red Cross Meeting With Victims of Yesterday's Federal Hill Fire

The American Red Cross of Rhode Island family caseworkers are busy today meeting with victims of yesterday's four-family fire at 87 Ring Street in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence.

A total of 17 people were displaced by the blaze, which started Sunday morning. Red Cross volunteers who were on the scene provided food, clothing and shelter to victims.

Today, the families are meeting with a Red Cross caseworker to determine their long-term needs.

All Red Cross assistance is free and provided through the generous contributions of private citizens. Red Cross volunteers respond to over 300 fires a year, providing emergency services for Rhode Islanders who have no where else to turn.
