The Director of Community Engagement at the American Red Cross of Rhode Island works closely with government officials, community leaders and teams of volunteers to help develop and/or improve the disaster prevention, preparedness and response capabilities of their city
or town.
By becoming well prepared for disasters and having a local team of volunteers who are
trained to assist during a large-scale emergency, a city or town can minimize the effects
of a disasters on its community, as well as help their residents cope with and recover from disasters more quickly.
