American Red Cross of Rhode Island

January 4, 2010
Every year, our Red Cross chapter helps almost 400 Rhode Island children who are victims of fires. That’s 400 kids who need food, clothing, infant supplies and temporary shelter—at an average cost of $250 per child.

Unfortunately, due to these tough economic times, our emergency funds are dangerously low. In order to continue helping children who experience a house fire, we need your help now!

That’s why we’re asking you to make a special gift to Operation Bear Hugs today.
·      Your donation will provide the food, clothing and shelter a child so desperately needs following a disaster—as well as the comfort of a new teddy bear.

·       A card will be included, letting the child know their bear came from you.

·       In return, you’ll be notified when your bear is given out and learn about the child you helped.

·       Very soon, a child in our state will be burned out of their home. We must be sure that our Red Cross chapter is able to provide them with the food, shelter and clothing they need—as well as the comfort and security a teddy bear can bring.
