the folks at Fred Smith volunteered to fix the van at no charge!

Rocco Paliotti, owner of Rocco's Used Furniture in Saunderstown, was one of the many Rhode Islanders who stepped forward to help victims of a devastating earthquake in Turkey. Rocco, pictured here with our director of volunteers Melanie Saunders, set up a "match" donation program with his family, friends, and neighbors. By doing so, he raised more than $600. Thanks Rocco!
The Red Cross of Rhode Island recently received a donation of $10,000 by the McBean Charitable Foundation. The check was presented by Noreen Stonor Drexel, a director of the Foundation and a long-time supporter of the Red Cross of Rhode Island. Pictured with Mrs. Drexel (center) are Barbara Peters, manager of the East Bay office; board member Morrie Seiple; Barbara G. DeCesare, executive director; and Michael Tousignant, board chairman. The money will be used for disaster relief in Rhode Island.
